Manchester United Opinion: Why Wan-Bissaka will be a top fit at United?
According to a report from the Metro, Manchester United are interested in signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer searches for Antonio Valencia’s long-term replacement.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 21, has been a stellar performer for Crystal Palace, enjoying an excellent breakout season under Roy Hodgson in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the best full-backs in the league, thus catching Manchester United’s attention.
Interestingly, Palace manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that his club could sell Wan-Bissaka this summer if the right offer comes in for the young gun. That clearly suggest Manchester United certainly have got a chance to get their top target and they must go all out to sign Wan-Bissaka this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring in his targets before United’s first pre-season game on July 13 as the newly-appointed manager looks forward to building a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
One of the most concerning areas of the team has been the defence, with the Red Devils leaking 43 goals and currently having the worst defensive record in the top six.
Clearly, Solskjaer needs to start rebuilding his team by sorting out the defensive problems that have held United back for a few years now. A couple of central defenders are indeed required and so is a new right-back, with Valencia’s contract expiring in summer and Ashley Young set to turn 34 in July.
Diogo Dalot was signed last summer from Porto but he has looked comfortable in an advanced role on the right, instead of as a full-back under Solskjaer.

He loves to maraud forward down the right and contribute to the team’s attacks as much as he can. Wan-Bissaka is also a fantastic dribbler who always backs himself to take on his man and beat him with his speed and intelligence.

As far as his defensive statistics are concerned, the 21-year-old has made 138 tackles with a success rate of 67%. He has made 77 interceptions, 5 blocks, 127 clearances and 200 recoveries—these are the numbers that makes Wan-Bissaka such an exciting player to have in the squad. Above all, the right-back being just 21 is scary!

Wan-Bissaka has four years left on his current contract at Palace, meaning United have to splash a lot of money to get his signature. Considering how the Red Devils have struggled defensively this season, the club shouldn’t hesitate to spend big on the right-back, who has the potential to become the world’s best.
